 Measuring Tips and Weight

Titanium is about 1/3 lighter than steel.
Aluminium is 1/3 the weight of steel and ½ the weight of Titanium.
Carbon is about ½ the weight of aluminium.

A question that I often get asked. How do I measure a bolt?

It's really very easy. Use of a vernier caliper would make measuring a lot more accurate.

All standard bolts are measured from the end of the threads to the bottom of
the bolt head. The bolt head makes no difference in general measurements.

The example shown below is a M6x35 ti bolt

35mm does not include the head height.

6mm is the width of the shaft, NOT the

size of the allen socket.
